If you hold an accredited First Aid or Emergency First Aid qualification that will still be valid for at least 12 months from the course start date then you only need to attend the 2 hour session from 6pm to 8pm. You must email this certificate to us by replying to the booking confirmation email.

Description

Who is this qualification for?

The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace. It is designed for learners who currently hold a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a security officer and need to be brought up to date with the new licence-linked qualifications requirements.

How long will it take?

To complete this qualification learners are expected to undertake approximately 6 hours of learning. The SIA stipulates a minimum of 1 hour and 50 minutes contact time (0.5-days) if self-study is undertaken. Full details and the pre-course work will be sent out to you and must be completed before the course date.

Self Study

Learners will be required to complete self-study paperwork including ACT Security & Awareness E-learning, textbook and workbook. Full details and the pre-course work will be sent out to you and must be complete before the course date.

Topics covered

These include the principles of terror threat awareness and minimising personal risk for security officers.

Assessment method

This qualification is assessed by multiple-choice examinations.
